This year’s ranking for Nottinghamshire’s Top 200 biggest businesses is about to be revealed. It is the first time that the usually annual event has taken place since 2019.
Following a break in reporting due to the pandemic, Nottinghamshire companies have once again been ranked and their places compared to the last set of results, to gauge which businesses have excelled over the past three years.
The full list was revealed on Tuesday morning, June 14, at a special breakfast event being held at Nottingham Trent University with data including latest turnover figures, and the number of staff they employ.
Compiled using data gathered over the past 12 month from the official register at Companies House, the list creates the annual ranking of the county’s largest and most influential companies as well as the most exciting up-and-coming entrepreneurs.
We'll bring you the results as they are announced at the event, being run in association with Nottingham Business School and Pattersons Commercial Law.

Well, the excitment is over for one year - the list of Nottinghamshire's Top 200 companies is now complete. Ranked by turnover, we've seen some familiar names alongside some newcomers to the list - and the top four firms have all held their positions from 2019.

Taking the top spot in the 2022 rankings is Nottinghamshire’s biggest and most renowned company, Boots. Locally, Boots has been one of the region’s biggest employers for decades.
The Nottingham success story retains a Beeston HQ. The pharmaceutical and beauty retailing giant listing 43,742 staff members according to the figures, and revenue of £8.68 billion
BOOTS OPTICIANS PROFESSIONAL SERVICES LIMITED
Company Description: Pharmacy-led health and beauty retailing.
Keeping its ranking from 2019, number two in the list is motor retailing group Pendragon Plc
Company Description: Retailing of used and new vehicles & repair of vehicles (aftersales). Also provides dealer management software.
In at number three is the Frasers Group Plc, headed by businessman and Frasers Group CEO Mike Ashley.

The 2022 list has been compiled using data from the official register at Companies House in association with the Nottingham Business School at Nottingham Trent University. The headline sponsor is Pattersons Commercial Law.
