A Weber County man was arrested by Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies following a traffic stop on Thursday.
Deputies stopped the 56-year-old Roy man traveling westbound on S.R. 40, according to a report from the Sheriff’s Office. A search of the vehicle revealed marijuana, drug paraphernalia and multiple warrants from outside of Summit County.
Deputies also located tools commonly used for burglary during the investigation, according to the report. Broken glass was found in the man’s pockets, but deputies were unable to determine if he had forcibly entered any vehicles or buildings before his arrest.
The man was transported to the Summit County Jail on multiple charges.
The Sheriff’s Office responded to several other calls between Monday, Sept. 12 and Friday, Sept. 16, including several traffic stops and reports of theft.
Deputies initiated a traffic stop in Promontory. They discovered the driver, a 24-year-old West Jordan man, had a felony warrant. He was arrested.
A traffic stop was initiated in Silver Creek on a vehicle with a revoked registration. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license and numerous warrants for drug-related charges. A K9 indicated that drugs were present in the vehicle. Deputies discovered paraphernalia and field-tested narcotics. The 37-year-old Lehi man was transported to the Summit County Jail.
A Kamas homeowner reported an unknown person threw a rock at the front window of his home sometime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., causing the outer pane to break. There is no known footage of the incident. Deputies have no suspect information.
Deputies stopped a woman at a Kimball Junction business for having a license plate that didn’t belong on her vehicle. She admitted to deputies that methamphetamine was inside the vehicle, which prompted a probable cause search to be initiated. Deputies discovered a pill bottle, pipes and a plastic baggie containing a crystal-like substance. It tested positive for methamphetamine. The 50-year-old Wyoming woman was arrested. She was transported to the Summit County Jail.
Deputies made contact with a 29-year-old Salt Lake City man who was sleeping at the Transit Center in Kimball Junction after hours. The man gave false information to deputies. Deputies discovered the Board of Pardons issued a warrant for the man’s arrest for violating his parole. He was arrested and charged with providing false information to deputies.
A Silver Creek business owner reported a shoplifting suspect was in custody. Deputies arrived and were provided with probable cause the suspect had committed retail theft. The 41-year-old Park City woman was arrested. She was transported to the Summit County Jail.
Summit County Search and Rescue assisted with providing fuel to the Crystal Lake Trailhead on a Duchesne County Search and Rescue call.
Deputies responded to vehicle theft in Bear Hollow. The complainant said his car was parked in the driveway and was no longer there when he woke up. The vehicle was listed as stolen and deputies attempted to locate it. There is no suspect information.
Fraud was reported near Promontory. The complainant said they signed a contract to purchase a horse trailer and wired around $4,000 to a business. The business is believed to be illegitimate.
A deputy responded to a delayed report of juveniles kicking in a door of a building under construction in Atkinson. The door was damaged and a wall was spray-painted, but no items were stolen. There are no suspects.
A woman and her husband left their vehicles unlocked in Bear Hollow. A suspect entered the cars and stole a wallet as well as other personal property.
Deputies responded to a vehicle burglary in the Snyderville Basin. The complainant said a bag containing fly fishing gear was removed from his pickup truck between 10 p.m. on Sunday and 1 p.m. on Monday.
